| 2 law leaders out over handling of slur
Two of South Carolina's top-ranking law-enforcement officials are out of jobs because the governor says they were too lenient on a state trooper captured on video using a racial slur as he threatened to kill a suspect. Gov. Mark Sanford announced Friday that Department of Public Safety director Jim Schweitzer, whom Sanford appointed in 2004, and Col. Russell Roark, who heads the Highway Patrol, had offered their resignations Friday morning. A video from a 2004 traffic stop in Greenwood County shows a suspect fleeing. From off camera, the trooper yells, "You better run, n-----, because I'm fixin' to kill you." The governor said the trooper, who is still on patrol, should have been fired. Schweitzer and Roark say they stand by the punishment they handed out -- anger management and diversity training.

13,000 Xerox People Are Changing Lives, Strengthening Communities, One ...
(CSRwire) STAMFORD, Conn. -- In 2002, Susan Bates and a team of Xerox volunteers from Wilsonville, Ore., wanted to put their artistic talents to good use - so they started a weekly art program at the Rosemont School for Girls in Portland. Bates, the Xerox Wilsonville volunteer coordinator, said the watercolor painting and arts and crafts classes are popular. And officials at Rosemont, the largest secure residential treatment center for troubled teen girls in the Pacific Northwest, have leveraged the success of the program to secure additional funding from the state. "Rosemont is often a last chance for these girls," Bates said. "Their mood and outlook has changed due to the positive mentoring of our volunteers and the opportunity to create something of value." Thousands of Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) employees throughout the United States volunteer for projects like these each year through the Xerox Community Involvement Program, which marks its 30th anniversary this year.
Chicago Irish Film Festival offers an early taste of St. Patrick's Day
Like so many of the best sports-themed movies, "Saviours" has breadth far beyond its subject matter. A boxing movie that's only nominally about boxing, this self-proclaimed "no-budget" documentary follows three aspiring boxers as they train for the 2005 Irish Senior Championships. .
Resumania: Don't put reason for leaving job on your resume
There are myriad reasons you may decide to leave your job, but none of them belongs on your resume. If the hiring manager wants to know why you chose to leave, he or she will ask. While the following candidates have perfectly valid reasons for seeking greener pastures, a little more decorum in the resume would have been welcomed: "REASON FOR LEAVING: An unforgiving schedule and a brutal commute (three hours each way)." On the road again. Just can't wait to get on the road again ... "REASON FOR LEAVING: My boss' son took over his business and cashed out most of it and burned through what was left." Gives new meaning to passing the torch. "REASON FOR LEAVING: Being expected to work on Sundays for free is the current problem." As good a reason as we've heard.
