His letter, written from his prison cell southwest of Cairo, called on Islamist and jihadi groups around the world to cease violent operations, bluntly declaring, “We are prohibited [by God] from committing aggression, even if the enemies of Islam do so." .

Barretts Equine Ltd. has cataloged 191 horses for its March sale of selected two-year-olds in training, to be held March 12 at Hinds Pavilion in Pomona, California, beginning at 2 p.m. PST.

Official: La. to expand coastal commitment
Louisiana will change the way it addresses coastal restoration and protection issues in the next four years, a state official said recently. Garret Graves, the new director of the Governor’s Office of Coastal Affairs, said the changes will involve a bigger financial commitment from the state, more involvement in coordinating state and federal agencies, and a focus on doing larger-scale projects. "If we’re not going to do this (restore and protect the coast) then we need to stop the other economic development initiatives in Louisiana," he said. There will also be changes in the short term as Graves and others work to make changes in the fiscal year 2009 annual plan that will go to the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.

Gold found some liberal media experts said that blend "gives partisans fodder to argue bias." Can anyone locate the line dividing news from editorializing? "In an environment where opinions are flying, words escape easily," said Mark Jurkowitz, associate director of the Project for Excellence in Journalism, a nonpartisan research group. "It gets harder and harder to define the line of what's acceptable." Tom Fiedler, the visiting Murrow lecturer at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, rejected the idea "that you can move from one side to the other and not confuse most viewers.
